• Prophy & Scale
After your Dentist has examined your teeth and diagnosed your periodontal
(gum) condition the hygienist will clean your teeth if there is no
disease present.
• Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy
A professional cleaning or "root planing" is required if
disease is present. Periodontal disease slowly erodes the bone around
teeth which will eventually result in tooth loss if left untreated.
During treatment the hygienist will anesthetize your gums and remove
all plaque and bacteria surrounding your teeth.
• Perio Maintenance
Following a periodental treatment you may need to see the hygienist
at 3 month intervals to keep your gum disease in remission.
• Recall
Your dentist will recommend six month examinations and cleanings
to insure your good oral health.
